Overview Con Edison, a multi billion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.The Clean Energy Engineer will be responsible for leading the SCADA and PI Historian integration of Utility controlled energy storage resources. The Clean Energy Engineer will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain general SCADA architecture guidelines for energy storage installations and to tailor the same for specific energy storage projects. The Clean Energy Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining the PI Historian associated with the energy storage projects, track performance, and create reporting based on the business needs of the Energy Storage team.This is a great role to demonstrate your ability to drive results, demonstrate application of cross disciplinary skills to the clean energy space and gain firsthand experience with the clean energy transition.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities

- Support the design and implementation of the Utility Integrated and Utility Dispatch Right energy storage projects across all Con Edison operating regions.
- Ensures coordination and cross-departmental alignment of energy storage integration, including but not limited to Distribution Engineering, Electric Operations, Central Operations, and Shared Services.
- Draft XA/21 Energy Management Systems (EMS) displays, charts, graphs, and related visualizations.
- Develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens for local and remote operation.
- Develop SCADA logic for integration of energy storage systems with Con Edison control centers.
- Develop PI Historian screens.
- Perform data analysis and root-cause evaluations of PI historical data to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Contribute when troubleshooting SCADA system components.
- Interact with third-party vendors to integrate their products with the Con Edison SCADA system.
- Ensure all SCADA deployments meet quality standards and cybersecurity standards.
- Participate in integrating the energy storage systems in the Companys Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) efforts.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of engineering work experience. or
- Master's Degree in Engineering and 2 years of engineering work experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 2 years of engineering work experience.

- Hands-on experience configuring, programming, and testing Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) RTAC, RTUs, HMIs, or PLCs for SCADA systems, required.
- Hands-on experience with configuring and programming OSIsoft PI-Historian, required.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, required.
- The ability to understand and prepare one-line diagrams, required.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau, preferred.
- Familiarity with MS Visio, preferred.

- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be able to work from the Company's corporate headquarters in New York City
