Position Summary:

Methode Electronics is seeking a Senior Counsel who will focus on providing expert legal support for an assigned area of our business.

Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is a leading global supplier of custom-engineered solutions with sales, engineering and manufacturing locations in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. We design, engineer, and produce mechatronic products for OEMs utilizing our broad range of technologies for user interface, lighting system, power distribution and sensor applications.

Our solutions are found in the end markets of transportation (including automotive, commercial vehicle, e-bike, aerospace, bus, and rail), cloud computing infrastructure, construction equipment, and consumer appliance. Our business is managed on a segment basis, with those segments being Automotive, Industrial, and Interface.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with our customers, including sales contracts, supply, confidentiality, and warranty agreements.

  • Provide legal advice, review, and support for assigned focus of activities, relationships, and operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and best practices.

  • Handle disputes and provide strategic advice to mitigate risks and resolve issues efficiently, particularly in the context of supplier and customer relationships.

  • Work closely with multiple functional areas such as sales, procurement, engineering, quality, compliance, and finance teams to provide proactive legal solutions that align with business objectives and drive operational excellence.

  • Offer wide ranging, general legal support as needed, contributing to the overall success of the organization, in cooperation with external legal advisors.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • +7 years of relevant legal experience, with preferably a combination of large law firm and in-house experience supporting assigned area of business.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed, or able to become licensed, to practice law in state where work is focused.

  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and business issues.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with executives, stakeholders, and external partners.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $163,000-$185,000.

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive plan.Metrics and level of participation are determined annually.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
