Summary:The Grinder Operator/Drill Machine Operator role at Voith involves setting up, operating, and maintaining large roll grinding machines or various types of rolls. The operator adheres to safety and quality standards, perform inspections, and manage heavy loads using an overhead crane. Experience in roll grinding and handling industrial equipment is preferred, though trainees may be considered. The position requires manual lifting, potential shift work, and a willingness to learn other operational tasks. A high school diploma is preferred but not mandatory if offset by relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain large roll grinder used to grindpaper machine rolls
• Set up, operate and maintain multi-spindlegang drill.
• Identify and verify drillpatterns
• Familiar with CNC machine operations

• Should have experience in lifting and moving heavy loads with an overhead crane.
• Should have experience in setups used in grinding practices on large equipment.
• Be willing to work overtime when required.

Requirements:

• Some manual lifting (up to 70 lbs)
• Experience using hand tools.
• Experience with the following equipment:
  
  
  
  • Large roll grinders
  • CNC Gang Drill with Fanuc controls
  • Overhead crane
  • Forklift truck
  • Hand truck
  
  
  
  
• Experienced operator preferred with background in Paper Mill roll grinding.
• Experienced operator with background in roll grinding other than paper mill rolls or other similar machines.
• A trainee may be considered if they exhibit the requirements as detailed under general responsibilities
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
