The ideal candidate will have experience in both front-end and back-end development, and will be able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and product managers Job Title: Java Full Stack Engineer Associate Role: Individual Contributor External Facing Role Essential Functions: * Develop and maintain web applications: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient web applications using modern technologies and frameworks. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and business objectives. * Write clean, maintainable code: Ensure all code is well-documented, maintainable, and adheres to coding standards and best practices. * Implement front-end and back-end solutions: Develop both client-side and server-side logic, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. * Participate in code reviews: Provide and receive constructive feedback on code quality, design, and implementation to maintain a high standard of excellence. * Stay up to date with industry trends: Continuously learn and apply new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve the development process and deliver cutting-edge solutions. * Troubleshoot and debug applications: Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs to ensure the stability and performance of applications. * Contribute to the development of technical documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software components and systems. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field: A strong educational background to support technical expertise. Required Experience: * At least 3-5 years of experience in full stack development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality applications. * Proficiency in front-end technologies: Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. * Proficiency in back-end technologies: Experience with server-side languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java, and frameworks like Express, Django, or Spring. * Database management: Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). * Version control systems: Proficiency with Git and GitHub or other version control systems. * Agile methodology: Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on iterative and incremental delivery. Desired Experience: * Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field: Advanced education to enhance technical expertise. * Cloud platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and knowledge of cloud-native development and deployment practices. * Containerization and orchestration: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization and orchestration tools. * Testing frameworks: Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Selenium. * DevOps practices: Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. * Security practices: Understanding of security best practices and the ability to implement them in applications and systems. * Team events and activities: Regular team-building activities, social events, and company outings to foster a sense of community and collaboration. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
