GENERAL SUMMARY
The Sales Operations Specialist provides manufacturer support to one or more Independent Manufacturers Representative Firms (Reps) by facilitating and coordinating the sales operations process from pricing through manufacturing for engineered valves on municipal water and wastewater projects.
This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Utilize corporate ERP System to facilitate the sales operations process.
- Coordinate and manage quote and sales order activity between Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and Finance Departments
- Interpret technical specifications and commercial requirements to provide strategic, on-time pricing decisions for the valves on a project.
- Coordinate with Applications Engineering to obtain pricing for automatic actuators and special valves.
- Follow up with the Rep on project price level feedback to assist in securing orders and track project status.
- Assist the Sales Rep to overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
- Coordinate Direct Bids, Design Build Bids, & Contractor Bids with the Bid Team to obtain special pricing when required.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Project Management to provide estimated lead times and delivery dates to Rep.
- Proactively, coordinate with Finance Dept. to address any required special terms and conditions, warranties or other commercial risks.
- Process orders by converting pricing into sales orders in the ERP system.
- Check the order to verify that the specifications and special commercial requirements of a sale are priced correctly and are included in the order notes or the bill of material.
- Manage and process change orders.
- Obtain submittals for standard products from the ERP system or request special submittals from the Submittal Department.
- Negotiate technical project details to obtain submittal approval with customer.
- Re-configure and re-price any project scope changes.
- Enter change order in ERP system to release valves to production once submittal approval is obtained and scope is clarified.
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with the Rep.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer support role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated self-motivation, commitment to tasks, problem solving, and customer focus.
- Strong analytical skills with diligent attention-to-detail.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with multiple departments.
- Acute time management, communication, customer service, and people skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office program and experience with ERP Systems.
- Technical aptitude.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
- Position requires movement around the facilities.
- Occasional handling of material and components.
- Travel with Regional Sales Manager and DeZURIK Sales Rep as required to support sales growth and profit goals.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
DeZURIK offers a competitive hourly rate in the $27.28 to $34.10 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
