Data Analyst Quality & Safety

General Summary of Position
The MedStar Institute of Innovation (MI2) Data Analyst collaborates with engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver meaningful and actionable insights. This position is responsible for cleaning, collating, analyzing, and visualizing operational and clinical data to understand and improve on the impact of our products and processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Applies a user-center design approach, rapid prototyping and analytical visual best practices to design, create and share analytical insights that impact clinical and operational outcomes.
  • Works with project stakeholders to understand business objectives, information requirements, define scope, and establish specific key performance metrics to understand program effectiveness.
  • Works with data engineers to operationalize data workflows and modeling.
  • Cleans and understands data derived from an enterprise data warehouse. Blends data with product analytics and other data sources into a unified view.
  • Develops and performs QA processes to ensure data accuracy. Troubleshoots issues and errors.
  • Finds relationships across data sets, using various analytical techniques and integrates data to identify patterns and actionable information.
  • Develops and maintains data visualizations that present complex data in a clear, easy to understand format, so audiences at varying levels can understand and act on the results.
  • Presents results and metrics with project stakeholders through clear and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Creates and maintains effective, detailed design documentation.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, informatics, computer science, finance, engineering required or
    • other quantitative field. required

    Experience

    • 1-2 years 2 years related experience required and
    • Experience with healthcare data systems preferred

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Tableau certification preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Demonstrated ability to understand business need(s) and conduct appropriate analysis to translate data into actionable insights.
    • Proficiency SQL, MS Excel, Tableau or other data visualization and analytics tools.
    • Experience in the application of statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical hypothesis tests and proper usage, etc.)
    • Experience with healthcare data preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills.

    This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $131,310
