I. JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Vice President of IT Business Partnership will serve as the primary IT liaison for our Products Business and Research & Development function. This role is also responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and support services for Enterprise Information Management. Additionally, the VP will lead the Business Partner Center of Excellence (COE).

The Vice President, IT Business Partner will collaborate with Emergent's business and functional leaders to shape and drive business strategy, outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs). This role will be responsible for developing strategy-driven roadmaps that encompass people, roles, processes, information, and technology components. Additionally, the VP will ensure that business solutions deliver measurable value (ROI/ROA), with results effectively assessed, communicated, and adopted. This position will also oversee the engineering and execution of business-aligned solutions, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic thought leader, an inspiring people leader, and an exceptional communicator, adept at navigating a complex, matrixed environment. They will bring deep expertise in sales, marketing, and research & development business processes and enablement. Above all, this individual must be a highly effective collaborator, engaging seamlessly with diverse business stakeholders, vendor partners, and team members. A strong emphasis will be placed on identifying and driving innovation opportunities to ensure continued success in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving industry landscape.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • (Strategic Planning) Partner with business leaders to translate functional and business strategies and supporting outcomes to enabling business capabilities. Facilitate the development of actionable, multi-year, strategy driven business and IT roadmaps. Lead the development and execution of a cross company (enterprise) roadmap to ensure alignment and integration of business strategy and solutions enabling Emergent 2024 Strategy and beyond.
  • (Solutions/Capability Delivery) Lead a team of business partners, business architects and solutions delivery leads to deliver on the business/functional portfolios aligned to the Emergent Strategic Plan. Provide oversight and optimize the requirements, design, configuration, testing and deployment of business aligned solutions. (e.g. salesforce, laboratory, data, analytics). Architect, engineer and deliver business aligned solutions ensuring successful, high quality, reliable, integrated, cost-effective solutions.
  • (Demand Shaping) Canvas the marketplace and proactively bring business & technology "art of possible" ideas to further the realization of business strategy. Collaborate to identify and develop true business value opportunities, and influence the decision on priorities, roadmap, and timing of initiatives/deliverables. Partner with business and IT leaders to evaluate proposals, build business cases and plan new joint initiatives. Owns building business case for all assigned. Oversees creation and maintenance of business architecture and roadmap. Gather high level business requirements regarding new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions.
  • (Enterprise Information Management) Responsible for developing and executing the organization's data and information strategy, ensuring seamless integration, governance, and utilization of data assets to drive business value. This role provides strategic leadership in data management, analytics, governance, and emerging technologies, aligning enterprise information initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • (Change Management) Partner with business teams (change management) to ensure effective business transformation for all initiatives (roles, processes, organization) to drive the realization of identified business outcomes. Ensures IT is aware of key business changes and issues.
  • (Portfolio) Obtain alignment on priorities (based on business value) working with targeted business areas. Provide input to governance committee for alignment on the global portfolio of initiatives such that IT initiatives support investment decisions with the greatest impact for the business, our colleagues, and our clients.
  • (IT Partnering) With the business, support and participate in formal status reporting. Manage stakeholder satisfaction with IT services. With technology teams (applications, infrastructure, security, project managers), work collaboratively to share knowledge ensuring One IT execution.
  • (SME) Leverage business experience (e.g., Commercial, Corporate, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain) and best practices for targeted business areas and solutions to provide specialized knowledge across the network and add value to overall business objectives.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS




  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, biomedical studies, science, or related major with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years' experience in IT management, business analysis, consulting, process engineering or solutions management in the Commercial, Business Units, HR, and Finance business areas.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role supporting sales and marketing and/or R&D.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude to drive change and influence innovation.
  • A great communicator in both written and oral communication
  • Solutions development/execution experience in at least two areas (Corporate, R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial)
  • Project management experience
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience required
  • A clear financial focus that is visible through value-based management
  • An ability to sit comfortably on multiple management teams
  • A well-respected team player with proven ability to contribute in a number of areas
  • A passion for quality, compliance and value in all that is delivered
  • A no-nonsense approach to getting things done

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from [$267,500 to $323,600]. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
