Status: Full-Time,permanent position (36 hours to 40 hours/8 to 12 hour shifts) Standard working hours: Rotating work schedule (off every other weekend, Sat to Sun). Need to be flexibility due to hospital hours 24/7, 365 days a year. Location: Will report daily to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, VA Job Description Summary: As aSecurity Officer with Sentara, you will ensure a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. This position's primary duties include actively patrolling campuses and monitoring activity in and around buildings and responding appropriately to both routine and emergent situations. You will also document daily activities via computer, conduct investigations, evaluate situations, and take appropriate steps for resolution. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED Certification/Licensure Valid Driver's License with Good Driving Record REQUIRED HANDLE WITH CARE Certification (HWC) and Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) must be successfully obtained within 90 days of hire.
