Advanced Plating Technologies is an industry-leading, ISO 13485 & 9001 certified and ITAR registered metal finishing job-shop that provides engineered solutions in metal finishing within demanding manufacturing sectors including the medical, defense, power distribution and electronic industries. We are looking for an Accounting Associate, who will be responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and assist with company financial reporting.
Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounts Executive with strong experience in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and pivot table analysis, as well as hands-on experience working with ERP systems, specifically OSAS (Open Systems Accounting Software) and Unix-based platforms moving to QuickBooks. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing finance team where you'll play a key role in managing financial data, reporting, and process optimization.
The key responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations using OSAS ERP system - Moving to QuickBooks
- Prepare and analyze financial reports using advanced Excel functions (vlookups, macros, pivot tables, etc.)
- Develop dynamic dashboards and visualizations using Power BI
- Ensure accurate data entry and integrity across ERP and reporting platforms
- Support monthly and quarterly close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and support audits
- Work within a Unix-based system environment for data extraction and process management
- Verify credit terms and coordinate prepayment of COD customers
- Assist with accounting related projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Assist with month, quarter and year end financials
- Monitor account payable aged balances
- Tracking and sorting capital expenditures as directed
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
The qualified candidate should have a minimum 2-year associates degree in accounting, finance or business administration. Some business-related coursework is preferred. Comprehensive MS Office skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word are a must. The candidate should have excellent organizational skills and be an outstanding verbal and written communicator. Previous experience with data entry in a Unix based ERP system as well as Goldmine (CRM) and QuickBooks is a plus.

Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, nested formulas, conditional formatting, and PivotTables.
- Experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and walk distances of up to 100 meters between buildings out of doors. The employee will spend extensive time computing and talking on the telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment:
The work environment mostly office based, but occasional exposure to the manufacturing area which has a variety of chemical baths in use may be required. Communication and teamwork are highly valued within the company as well as the push for continual improvement.
