Rutgers School of Health Professions (
SHP) is seeking an Instructional Designer to work in the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Counseling Professions.
The Instructional Designer will work with the newly funded Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (
MHTTC) located in the Rutgers School of Health Professions, Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions.
The
MHTTC focuses on workforce development via training and technical assistance, engaging with organizations and treatment providers involved in the delivery of mental health services to strengthen their capacity to deliver effective, evidence-based practices to individuals with mental health conditions.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Works with SMEs and the web support specialist to develop online training using educational technologies to create interactive and self-paced training modules on selected topics.
- Responsible for translation of content provided by the Lead Trainer and identified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Works collaboratively with Lead Trainer and identified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Reviews existing content materials to determine their utility for the development of online modules.
- Conducts detailed interviews with SMEs and the Lead Trainer.
- Creates online course material mock-ups and final course templates designed in Articulate Storyline 2 or other software.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or Educational Technology Required plus four (4) years experience designing interactive.

Certifications/Licenses |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Skilled in the knowledge and practice of instructional design models, theory, and practice.
- Expertise with CANVAS, Blackboard, Anthology or other learning management systems (LMS).
- Skilled in SCORM package software systems (i.e. Articulate Storyline 360, Wordpress).
- Expert in SQL coding and reporting.
- Experience in graphic design.
- Experience in graphic design designing interactive, self-paced, on-line learning experiences.

- Master's degree in an associated field with Instructional Design/Educational Technology Certificate preferred.
