Intern_ System Engineer

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with daily technical administrative tasks and provide support on various projects
• Assist with the capture of business needs and requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis;
• Critically evaluate information gathered to reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding of true needs;
• Engage in multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously;
• Liaise between customer community (internal) and the developers throughout the project lifecycle;
• Present designs to management and internal customers and, once approved, work closely with the engineering teams to implement the solution;
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish a technical vision, and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance;
• Assist with the identification of solution options and assess them for both technical and business suitability

12-week summer experience

Minimum Job Requirements

• Enrollment in a four year college degree program, or equivalent, in related field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or other technical/science-related field.
• SQL
• Understanding of HTTP, SOAP, RESTful Web Services testing preferred.
• Understanding of software release process and being able to manage defects, schedules and software releases.

• Experience with scripting languages to automate troubleshooting and deployment (Windows batch scripting, Python/Perl desired but not required)
• Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written. Excellent organization skills, follow-through, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform tasks under work deadlines. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and well organized.

Cubic Pay Range:

$27-34/hr.* + benefits.

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
