The Opportunity

The Engineering Fundamentals Department in the College of Engineering, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida is seeking to fill a visiting position at the Assistant Professor level. The department seeks a candidate who can contribute to the department's expertise in teaching first and second year engineering courses.

Primary responsibility will be teaching. Assigned teaching workload will be 4 + 4. Typical class size is 24 students. Service and research are not responsibilities for this position.

Candidates must hold a master's degree in engineering; preference will be given to candidates who also hold a terminal degree in engineering education. Candidates must be capable of teaching one or more first or second year general engineering courses, specifically Introduction to Engineering Design, Introductory Computer Programming (i.e., MATLAB), or Engineering Graphics (i.e., CATIA or SolidWORKS).

We seek candidates who will be active in the department and collaborate across the disciplines within the college of engineering. The faculty candidate will be joining a diverse and collegial team of faculty in the Engineering Fundamentals Department. We teach innovative engineering courses using evidence-based instruction, as well as conduct research to expand the boundaries in the emerging field of engineering education. The College of Engineering has over 1700 undergraduate students in six ABET accredited engineering degrees. Qualifications
