Location: Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station, Lutherville, MD -Assisted Reproductive Technologies Lab

Shift: Full Time (40 hours) /Day Shift: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday; Occasional Weekends

Position Summary:




  • Performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures. These require a professional level of knowledge to properly execute and analyze results, especially where results are abnormal or atypical.
  • Specific duties may vary according to laboratory and shift assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:

Education:




  • Work requires formal educational background in chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and microbiology normally acquired through completion of a two or four year post-secondary school program in clinical laboratory technology/medical technology and/or equivalent education and training in microbiology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, or related field. BS degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Lab Science, preferred.



Work Experience:




  • Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology internship or (one year) equivalent clinical lab experience or course work specific to the discipline.
  • This role is intended for individuals with less than 2 years of experience and for all BS/MT and equivalent degree candidates without the equivalent certification/registration (but with eligibility to sit for certification exam).
  • Promotion to this position for current staff via advancement when AA/MLT degree and certified/registered CLS 1's achieve a rating of (2) proficient or greater is achieved on the second annual performance evaluation. For this level, the AA degreed employee must demonstrate Med Tech/Medical Lab Science/Clinical Lab Science certification accepted by the Department of Pathology.

Salary Range: Minimum $27.97/hour - Maximum $46.18/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
