Duties and Responsibilities |
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to all students seeking assistance in writing, via e-mail, in person and by telephone. This includes answering questions about and providing guidance on student account issues, payment arrangements.
- Analyzes assigned accounts and conducts other research as necessary to respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies; identifies problems or error in accounts; determines appropriate corrective actions within established guidelines and refers for action as appropriate.
- Clearly understands policies and procedures, both financial and, where pertinent to the functions of the Office of the Bursar, academic, of the University in order to provide information to students; remains in contact with appropriate University department for up-to-date information.
- Processes various accounting and student service documents including, but not limited to, those related to payment plans, student account refunds, insurance billing, and third party contracts ensures actions are in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provides assistance as needed at alternative campus locations.
- Actively mails letter, sends e-mails and makes phone calls for past due accounts in an attempt to collect monies owed to Loyola.
- Advises borrowers on the issues of Deferments, Forbearances, Perkins loan reconciliation, payment, repayment agreements and credit bureau reporting.
- Counsels students on loan and federal consolidation options.
- Actively works with outside collection agencies in an effort to collect balance due.
- Act as liaison with affinity groups.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by the Manager.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
- Associate's Degree supplemented with 0-1 year of related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong presentation skills
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a contributing team member
