The AI Software & Platform team delivers AI products and platform for all Cisco Secure products and portfolios so businesses around the world can defend against threats and safeguard the most vital aspects of their business with security resilience. Your Impact

As an AI Security Researcher for our AI Software & Platform team, you will be responsible for leading efforts focused on the following:

  • Conduct threat research on existing and emerging AI security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Assess risk and impact of threats and communicate findings to cross-functional teams, and customers.
  • Collaborate with AI Defense product and engineering teams translate threat intelligence, and research into new detection and protection capabilities.
  • Engage with the broader AI security research community to share knowledge and insights and participate in conferences and workshops to represent the organization.
  • Author blog posts alongside product marketing, including an AI Threat Intelligence round up.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years or Master's degree with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years of experience in machine learning and AI research or threat research
  • 3+ years of experience in threat research, threat intelligence, threat hunting, threat modeling, or red teaming
  • Hands-on experience with AI technologies and/or information security.
  • Work or academic experience in AI, machine learning, and deep learning technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML security risks
  • Python / Go / programming or scripting familiarity
  • Experience in event investigation at scale, including the ability to triage large volumes of data using tools such as Snowflake and open datasets.
  • The capacity to think critically and tackle complex, innovative problems in the field.
  • A willingness to continuously learn and adapt, crucial in the ever-evolving field of AI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
