GSK is seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Science Manager to join our US Medical Analytics team. This role is pivotal in helping our Medical Affairs teams understand and track their impact through comprehensive data views that incorporate both lead and lag measures. In this role, you will develop and implement innovative measurement and reporting strategies, collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requests and ensure alignment with business objectives, lead the creation of interactive dashboards and compelling data visualizations, and translate complex data analyses into actionable insights that drive meaningful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement measurement and reporting strategies to effectively track the impact of US Medical Affairs activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to gather requirements, prioritize requests, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead the development of interactive dashboards and data visualizations that provide actionable insights.
  • Utilize data storytelling techniques to translate complex data analyses into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, embodying a player-coach leadership model.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes across the enterprise.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, supporting their professional growth and development.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, BI, or related roles
  • 3+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • 2+ years of project management experience, with track record of successfully leading and delivering multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in measurement and reporting strategy development.
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional data storytelling abilities, with a talent for communicating complex information in an accessible manner.
  • Experience in a player-coach leadership role, managing both FTEs and contractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile processes using Jira
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly within Medical Affairs organizations.
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques and tools (e.g., machine learning, AI).
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and managing remote collaborations.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
