Designs, develops, and assists with implementation of new corporate programs, systems, or processes. Leads the transformation of business processes and operational tools to enable environmental excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Manages and participates in complex environmental projects, including, strategic projects.
  • Works with various departments across the organization to ensure improvement of corporate environmental performance and provides guidance to accomplish goals.
  • Plans, develops, and implements environmental management programs, including environmental assessments, storage tanks, storm water, hazardous waste, air quality, emergency response related to fuel spills or other environmental hazards, and other compliance programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate and supervise all tank compliance activities for regulated tanks (fuel systems and emergency generators) including but not limited to:
    • Inspections, testing, training (UST Operator A, B, C), repairs, etc.
    • SPCC Plans support
    • Installations, upgrades, and removals
    • Regulatory changes and updates
  • Manage the electronic tank compliance management system, which stores and manages all documents associated with regulated USTs and ASTs including installation documents, equipment specifications, tests, inspections, training certifications, permits/registrations, etc.
  • Review Financial Responsibility regulations and prepare and submit Financial Responsibility documentation.
  • Facilitate between internal and external stakeholders, tank installers, inspectors, technicians, and regulatory agencies for any projects triggering a compliance matter (e.g., spill bucket replacements, leak investigations, etc.). Coordinate and oversee third party vendors for various tank compliance work.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and closeout of any noncompliance matters; investigate potential releases and coordinate/supervise remediation activities.
  • Consult on all environmental and regulatory matters associated with tanks and systems.
  • Consult on fuel system and equipment specifications for new systems and remodels.
  • Maintain all permits and registrations for tanks.
  • Review and advise any new and proposed State & local UST & AST regulations, which may affect FEC fueling systems.
  • Prepare state reporting associated with FEC fueling systems/USTs/ASTs, as necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to effectively work with and influence a diverse group of stakeholders with varying priorities to collaborate on project objectives to ensure continued safe and compliant operations of FEC fueling systems.
  • UST and AST regulations in the US and Canada (preferred or ability to obtain Canadian Provincial knowledge)
  • Knowledge of petroleum fueling system operations, repairs, installations, removals, etc.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science or policy or a related field required.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years of Environmental Compliance, policy or related field required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies, and procedures related to environmental compliance laws and regulations required.

Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, web-based platforms.

Verbal and written communication to explain complex or confidential information.

Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.

Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $6,168.90 /month - $10,898.39 /month Colorado Pay Range: $7,882.48 /month - $10,444.28/ month New York Pay Range: $7,539.76/ month - $9,990.18 /month New York City Pay Range: $8,225.20 /month - $10,898.39 /month

Additional Details: This position will be remote. This position may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories. Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
