Overview

The Specialist is responsible for providing support to Gas Operations to coordinate, schedule and oversee employee training for operator qualification requirements in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and company standards. The Specialist will manage the TLC or alternate location study room that is designated for employees to attend for formal study time prior to their 3-year requalification. The Specialist will check in and check out the employees from the study room and provide a full report to their management team on what was completed during the study session and what it is still pending. The Specialist will receive cross training with OQ coordinators and be their backup if needed. The Specialist will manage PE Joining scheduling every year and capture analytics and create a tracking sheet to showcase progress. The Specialist will assist with the TLC Prometric Testing room, review and communicate test results to the employees and act as a backup for the check in and check out process of the Prometric room.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide quality customer service by scheduling and overseeing training for operator qualifications for designated Gas sections, and Gas Operations as a whole.
  • Act as a liaison between Gas Operations employees and The Learning Center (TLC) to plan, coordinate, schedule and implement training/testing activities. Main point of contact for TLC instructors and ASTAR evaluators to troubleshoot evaluation access if not available automatically.
  • Act as a backup to the OQ Coordinators and schedule and reschedule operator qualification training and testing for employees as well as preparation and remediation if needed Assist with tracking Operator Qualification requirements, as needed, using ITS reports and if any exams were missed or failure occurred, discuss with the student and reschedule immediately. Issue reports to user groups to monitor training and compliance/goals and utilize the coaching Report to discuss the topics to focus their studies.
  • Communicate the established formal study room schedule to each department in Gas Operations and verify attendance of employees. Provide to employees during formal study time access to all training material, including but not limited to computer-based training, manuals, manufacturer's instructions and NGA training books. Supervise allocated time for formal study time at TLC. Reset passwords to employees' profiles if they have log in issues and escalate further if necessary.
  • Manage PE Joining Project with Sr Specialist of OQ group. Track daily progress of PE Joining testing and analyze PE Joining test results and provide insights on the most failed exams and showcase trends and do historical comparisons.
  • Manage all pending assignments daily for employees before testing in Prometric facilities. Provide check in and check out for each employee, each day during written exam testing" Review what testing is needed prior to student's entry into Prometric room (utilizing bundles) and review ITS reports to determine what exams were completed and if any were missed/failed.
  • Validate data captured in OQ score cards in GASOPSIQ and identify any potential issues and address them accordingly. Track OQ Scorecards in GASOPSIQ and provide trends every month.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for B&S meetings, monthly staff meetings, Senior Pipeline Review meetings and Employment Development meetings. Host of Gas Ops Training monthly staff meetings and participate during monthly OQ Committee meetings and provide an agenda and capture meeting minutes.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years full time related experience or
  • Associate's Degree and 4 years full time related experience or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years full time related experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
Relevant Work Experience
  • Gas Operations experience, operational experience, or administrative experience. Required
  • General understanding of electronic management systems. Required
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint) and possess excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to confidently interact with all levels of employees. Required
  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment, and be able to interact effectively with all levels of management, union workforce, and external agencies when necessary Required
  • Must possess an understanding and working knowledge of computer reporting and database management systems. Required
  • Experience with learning management systems such as ITS or other. Required
  • Knowledge of Power Bi, Tableau. Preferred
  • Knowledge of Operator Qualification requirements. Preferred
