Job Description JOB DETAILS:
Starting Base Pay: $17 per hour ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Planning, scheduling and inventory accuracy.
- Analyze key buying metrics (e.g., class productivity, product trending, inventory status, margin rate) and provides recommendations for optimization.
- Identifying the most cost-effective source, obtain quotes for pricing and set up parts in the system for new product launches or product changes.
- Coordinate procurement of material to demand; communicate with suppliers our requirements & forecast.
- Develop, optimize and integrate detailed business schedules (supplier plans, replenishment models) in a lean environment, to achieve the business goals.
- Review all PO's and improvements with our suppliers.
- Manage all internal quote request and purchase orders.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external business partners including suppliers, supervisors and team leads, logistics/warehouse groups and material planners
- Manage invoice discrepancies between the supplier and AP to ensure suppliers are paid in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate activities to achieve operational metric targets (KPIs);
- Execute quarterly safety stock and lead time review
- Manage inbound and outbound trailer traffic for 10 shipping and receiving doors
Qualifications REQUIREMENTS & EDUCATION
- Minimum of 2 years buyer experience in a manufacturing support environment. Bachelor's degree Preferred
- Advanced computer skills with experience in MS Office especially Excel (Pivot tables, V-look-ups, graphs), ERP and Reporting systems
- Practical working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools such as pull systems, PDCA thinking, value stream mapping, process mapping, and kanban systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with manufacturing BOMs
- Ability to maintain adequate and cost-effective levels of stock to maintain daily operations
- Practical working knowledge of supply chain technologies (ERP, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Warehouse Management Systems). Act with urgency & take responsibility for addressing critical roadblocks
- Strong communication skills through written, verbal and listening, and presentation techniques; Effectively collaborate and works well with other Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving
- Act as an agent for Innovation Everywhere & Continuous Improvement by creatively solving operations problems and reducing overall costs and risks to the business.
- Ability to understand customer needs, in detail, and consistently attend to meeting customer requirements
