Who We Are ...

SourceAmerica is searching for a Social Media Manager to join its team. This role is a data-driven marketing communications function that is essential in driving our content creation and social engagement strategy across our organization. This person is responsible for identifying and creating content that supports the organization's goals, and executing that strategy by developing, editing and pushing content. Goals for this role include improving traffic to the SourceAmerica website through social engagement; raising awareness of SourceAmerica's network nonprofits; and the SourceAmerica mission, focus and brand. This role is responsible for developing and implementing content that resonates with the disability community, federal customers, nonprofit agencies and policymakers.

* Due to the requirements of this position - The candidate must be based near SourceAmerica's National Office in Vienna, VA (greater-Washington, DC metro area). SourceAmerica's employees who live within 30 commuting miles of our offices work in a hybrid setting with 2-3 days in office and the balance as remote work.

As a Social Media Manager, your work functions will include but are not limited to the following. A full position description will be given to candidates at the time of the interview.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing Communications, other business units, and within SourceAmerica's nonprofit network to identify and create social media content that increase awareness and understanding of SourceAmerica, its nonprofit network and the AbilityOne Program.
  • Oversee community management including responses to followers and others.
  • Identify opportunities to train and encourage more widespread use of social media among SourceAmerica's nonprofit network to bring visibility to their work in communities nationwide.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate social media strategies and tactics into integrated marketing communication campaign plans as assigned.

Salary Range

The salary for this position falls in a range between $85,000 - $95,000 depending on your experience and geographic location in the United States.

What You Must Have ...

  • Associates degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5 years of analytical skills crucial for interpreting social media metrics and making data-driven decisions to enhance performance.
  • Developing innovative campaigns that capture attention and drive engagement.
  • Proven experience in social media management or digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.
  • Demonstrated excellence in digital copywriting, content creation and curation.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to simultaneously manage multiple campaigns to multiple audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with project management systems and workflow tools to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
  • Keen interest in the convergence of news, digital media, and public affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience as part of a crisis communications response team.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals and teams across a 400+ organization with a national footprint
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficient user experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. SourceAmerica uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 as its business application system.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Capable of working independently and solving problems under time pressure
  • Flexible schedule and some travel required during certain time periods
  • Commitment to fulfilling SourceAmerica's mission, vision, and values
  • We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) as our primary business application system for much of our office processes- experience with D365 or using similar methods is preferred.

Work Environment

Our organization offers both a hybrid work model-where employees work in our office two to three days per week and work from home the balance of the workweek.
