LOCATION: Prescott Corps, AZ

STATUS: Full-time, Non-exempt

MISSION STATEMENT:

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to follow direction and work with minimum of supervision.
  • Must have a valid food handlers' certificate.
  • Ability to supervise assigned volunteers.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer applications.
  • Working knowledge of community resources.
  • Must be able to work well with the public and handle stressful situations.
  • Must have Valid Arizona Driver's License.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program.
  • Ability to work within established policy guidelines, accept direction from qualified sources & follow instructions
  • Respect and concern for cultural diversity of families and individuals served


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Daily check and recording of temperatures of refrigeration and freezer units
  • Report equipment concerns ASAP
  • Work with Driver to ensure food picked up is brought into pantry in a timely manner
  • Preparation of food boxes/bags in advance for distribution using available supplies to ensure rotation of food on a regular basis
  • Rotate food on a schedule of first in/first out basis
  • Assist clients with shopping in the client choice food pantry
  • Assist clients while in the clothing closet
  • Date and put food away in a timely manner
  • Input client and resource data into WellSky and partner agency database daily to ensure partner agency agreement is in compliance
  • Daily checking of food pantry and equipment
  • Maintain pantry and equipment to keep it organized and clean by maintaining a regular schedule
  • Work with and supervise volunteers assigned to the food pantry
  • Assist picking up food from stores when driver is out
  • Additional duties during the holidays as assigned
  • Other duties related to food services or seasonal activities as they relate to Social Services as assigned by direct supervisor and Corps Officer.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
