The Operations & Maintenance Technician IV Mechanic will utilize journey level mechanical skills, experience and knowledge to maintain, repair or install large complex water utility equipment and systems. This position will be based at the Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne, CA but may require travel to other facilities You will perform preventive maintenance, corrective troubleshooting and process improvements on pumps, valves, valve actuators, pumping facilities, power plants, and large-scale water conveyance pipelines, treatment and distribution systems, including field and shop maintenance and repair work; troubleshooting methods and determination of failure causes; understanding of techniques for welding, fabrication, and machining to design, set-up, and manufacture parts and equipment necessary to repair, modify, and refurbish mechanical equipment and ensure its reliability; safety practices and regulations relevant to operating, repairing, and refurbishing mechanical equipment. Journey level experience as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems in treatment or pump plants, conveyance and distribution, and/or power generation systems, and related apparatus.
