Lead Radiation Therapist

Under the direction of the Chief Radiation Therapist provides various radiation therapies to patients as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices. Coordinates and direct the daily work activities of the department. Primary Duties:

• The role is 75% technical and 25% administrative, requiring the full range of duties expected from a Senior Radiation Therapist.

• Ensures accurate radiation therapy treatments, supervises staff therapists, and oversees verification, documentation, and execution of prescribed therapies.

• Assists in training new hires, evaluating staff competencies, providing feedback for performance reviews, and ensuring adherence to teaching processes.

• Participates in QA programs, performs equipment checks, monitors dose verifications, and ensures compliance with ACR and Joint Commission standards.

• Coordinates with physicians, physicists, and other specialists, manages patient scheduling, addresses treatment complications, and serves as a resource therapist for complex cases.

Qualifications:

• Vocational/Technical Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program (required)

• Bachelors degree B.S. degree (Preferred)

• 5-7 Experience as a radiation therapist, inclusive of previous work leader/targeted experience.

• AART Radiography Certification Professional ARRT certification mandatory (required)
