Posting Summary
The Psychology Department at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, NJ is accepting applications for an opening for a part-time Lecturer to teach undergraduate Psychology courses:

  • 830:320, Forensic Psychology. This course explores the interface of psychology and the law, with an emphasis on forensic psychology. Landmark legal cases that pertain to psychology will be discussed. Students will explore the various options for careers in the field of forensic psychology. Specific topics covered include police psychology, eyewitness and expert testimony, jury selection, psychopathy, repressed memories, profiling, victimless crimes, the insanity defense, lie detection, and custody evaluations.



This three-credit course will be offered in the fall semester of 2025 and the spring semester of 2026 with expected enrollments of 100-200 students. Salary is $8055 for a three credit course.
As the instructor of record, a lecturer is responsible for preparing the course syllabus, delivering lectures and leading discussions, assessing student work in a timely manner, holding weekly office hours, responding to student emails, and submitting final course grades to the registrar.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Psychology and undergraduate teaching experience. Current students in GSAPP or SAS Psychology or Social Work may also apply. Applicants selected for interview will be asked to provide evidence of teaching excellence and three letters of reference.
