Responsibilities
Job Description: As a Cloud Application Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications tailored to meet organizational needs. This role requires proficiency in cloud platforms, programming languages, and a strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications in cloud environments. This position is on-site at Ft. Belvoir.
Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based applications in alignment with project requirements.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Utilize cloud development tools and technologies to create effective cloud solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers and software architects, to ensure consistent application development.
- Integrate cloud-based applications with other systems, both cloud-based and on-premises.
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and debug functional and performance issues.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure applications remain current.
- Provide technical support and training to users for the cloud applications developed.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Application Developer.
- Proficiency in multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery).
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g., Apache), and UI/UX design.
- Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Node.js).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Great attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
