SUMMARY

Combine ingredients to obtain correct mixture of compound for producing extruded moulding.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for re-blends.
  • Responsible for operation of blender in combining compound to use in extruder.
  • Maintain records of how much compound is used and where it goes.
  • Responsible for temperature gauges, amp gauges, upkeep, maintenance and tooling of machine.
  • Must be able to run pelletizer machine.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, lead and supervisors/managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Knowledge

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Communication

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, and use hands to finger to handle or feel objects, and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The employee regularly works around dust and powder.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
