Field Service Diesel Technician

Interstate Power Systems is looking for Field Service Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) with experience working on Heavy Duty Trucks, On-Site Construction Equipment, as well as Carrier Transicold equipment to work out of our Rockford, Illinois location. Candidates with experience in Heavy Duty Equipment are highly preferred. All skill levels are welcome to apply, we are offering highly competitive wages!

Pay Range: Starting at $25.00-$45.00 per hour DOE

Field Service Mechanic/Technician Job Duties:

• Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
• Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
• Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
• Meet requirements for certifications.

Field Service Mechanic/Technician Requirements:

• Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders)
• Technical degree or certification a plus.
• Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable.
• Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product.
• Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus.
• Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train and Automatic Transmissions.
