Position summary: The Corporate Legal Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and support services to attorneys and staff, primarily within JMT's Legal Department.

Compensation for this position is around $28/hour. commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description.

Essential functions and responsibilities:



  • Assist with various corporate registrations, reports, filings, and business licensing.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and edit correspondence and other documents for typographical errors and compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Preparation of subcontracts.
  • Assist with managing database of insurance certificates, insurance policy renewals and general risk management functions.
  • File documents and assist with record-keeping and document organization.
  • Handle administrative tasks as assigned, including preparing and filing electronic and paper files.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with the Company's attorneys, contract administrator, paralegals, coworkers, internal and external clients and advisors.
  • Research and obtain information to support legal, business, and executive risk management priorities.


Nonessential functions and responsibilities:



  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies encouraged.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality of information.
  • At least 3 years of administrative experience in a professional services organization, in house legal department, or law firm
  • Possess ability to work closely and effectively across departments and with personnel at all levels of company.
  • Excellent technical skills with proficiency in use of computers and MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat or similar software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate good character, judgment, and flexibility.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, and work well under pressure and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.


Working Conditions:

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
