Job Summary This position must handle multiple priorities in a high-volume K-12 threat management setting. Responsibilities include coordinating, training, and facilitating the Florida-specific Threat Management Model at traditional and charter schools. The employee will conduct training for school district personnel and community agencies and annually review district threat management policies and procedures to ensure best practices. Additional duties involve researching, gathering information, and communicating with community stakeholders. The role also includes preparing and presenting ongoing and state-mandated training to relevant school district personnel. The candidate should demonstrate excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communication, and collaborate with school district staff, threat management teams, law enforcement, and community partners. Essential Functions 1. Lead the District Level Threat Management Team as directed by the FLDOE-Office of Safe Schools. 2. Lead the delivery of training curriculum for the new statewide threat management model. 3. Provide training and consultation to School Based Threat Management Teams. 4. Serve as the liaison between the Duval County School District and the Statewide District Threat Management Coordinator at FLDOE-Office of Safe Schools. 5. Develop and deliver additional school safety training materials related to threat management. Conduct training for school district personnel and community agencies. 6. Review school-based threat management best practices as identified by industry leaders annually and recommend changes for the purpose of ensuring effective outcomes. 7. Develop and execute a compliance review process. 8. Regularly review Florida Statute as it relates to school safety and ensure district policies and procedures are meeting state requirements and recommendations. 9. Report violations or concerns of improper safety and security reporting to proper authorities for corrective action. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, required. Experience: One (1) Year experience as a School Safety Specialist preferred.
