Overview

This position can be based out of our Byron Center, Hazel Park, Michigan, Milwaukee, Fond Du Lac, Mayville Wisconsin or Defiance, OH offices. Pay rate will be between $17 and $20 per hour, depending on year in school.

As a member of the Corporate Procurement organization, you will support the strategic sourcing, supplier development, materials management, and operational excellence teams in their efforts to ensure purchased products meet our quality and delivery expectations at the lowest possible total landed cost. The Supply Chain Intern will work on projects that drive cost savings, enrich commodity strategies, and enhance business processes that facilitate optimal value for the enterprise and our customers. Responsibilities

Likely project support work: Supplier Scorecards, Commodity Strategies, Spend Analytics, Contract Management, Supplier Rationalization, Working Capital Improvement, Data Management, Cost Reductions and/or other projects that may arise.

Key Performance Indicators will be tracked, and you'll present results to the greater supply chain organization at the end of your internship.



Qualifications

What it takes to be a fit for this role:

* Pursuit of a BA/BS degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, finance, business or equivalent.

* The ability to take independent actions based on sound decision making and problem-solving skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.

* Excellent project management skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams to produce high-level work within tight timeframes.

* Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Visio, Project, & Sharepoint are a plus.

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts such as value stream mapping, fishbone diagraming, five-why, etc. is preferred, but not required.

* Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Access, Business Warehouse, and/or other data management software tools is preferred, but not required.

* Experience with manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, press brake, stamping, tube bending, welding, and assembly is preferred, but not required.

* Previous supply chain internship experience is a plus.
