Calibration Technician (1st Shift)

As a Calibration Technician supporting our manufacturing site, you will be trusted with completing accurate documentation of calibration activities, identifying faulty equipment, and suggesting upgrades if vital in Johns Creek, GA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Working quickly and methodically to ensure equipment is safe for operation and calibrated

  • Calibrating equipment to industry standards such as assuring that equipment is calibrated and maintained according to ISO, government, and safety regulations

  • Performing routine equipment maintenance

  • Troubleshooting equipment failures

  • Crafting, maintaining, and completing calibration procedures for various instrumentation and equipment

  • Maintaining calibration, repairing schedules, and supervising average lead time

  • Coordinating calibration with external calibration vendors for instruments that cannot be calibrated internally

  • Conducting equipment repairs and responding to client queries

  • Maintaining calibration equipment and supplies

  • Completing documentation related to calibrations

  • Resolving calibration issues with accuracy of measurement and compliance with specifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience

  • Work hours: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM EST - 4:00 PM EST

  • Travel Requirements: 0%

  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not Available

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in calibration

  • Relevant industry certification or formal training in Metrology, such as the Precision Measurement Equipment Course (PMEL) or TMDE gained through the military is highly desirable, and/or an associate's degree, preferably in a technical field specific to calibration and instrumentation

  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO-17025, ISO-9001, ISO-13285, etc.)

  • Extensive experience with equipment maintenance and repairs

  • Knowledge of calibration software and databases.
