Provides global aviation and U.S. surface movement forecasts for weather decision support to flight operations and global operations control to mitigate weather impacts to the line haul system.

Essential Functions

  • Provides global aviation and U.S. surface movement forecasts, preparing and issuing terminal and en-route weather forecasts.
  • Develops and issues truck weather route and area forecasts.
  • Provides written and/or oral weather briefings to control center personnel, flight crew members, and other company personnel.
  • Coordinates with global operations control ATC personnel to provide weather briefings to flight operations and other company personnel. .
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in meteorology or atmospheric/earth science.

Minimum Experience

Three (3) years related experience in a combination of synoptic, mesoscale, surface and upper air aviation weather forecasting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of weather data processing systems. Strong decision-making and communication skills.

Job Conditions

Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
