Your Role With Us:At Salem Health, an Equipment, Materials, and Instruments (EMI) Specialist plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring the Operating Room functions safely, efficiently, and without interruption. As a key liaison between surgical teams, vendors, and hospital departments such as Biomed and Sterile Processing, the EMI Specialist manages the planning, coordination, and maintenance of surgical equipment and instruments-including complex repairs, loaner tracking, and special surgical requests. With deep knowledge of aseptic technique, case planning, and supply chain logistics, they are trusted resources for staff education, vendor management, and problem-solving.
