What you will do

Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for an IT Value Senior Manager role. You will be responsible for the TBM strategy for the IT organization and establishing a taxonomy that enhances our operational effectiveness. You will drive the use of data to promote value-added activities for IT. We are seeking a talented individual who has a proven track record in driving IT change, focusing on data, and managing metrics/KPIs, benchmarking and capacity to enhance our operational effectiveness. This role requires a leader who can drive a culture of continuous improvement and embed new ways of working. This role is based in the US and is a remote opportunity!

How you will do it

  • Establish Technology Business Management Strategy (TBM)

  • Develop, communicate and implement the strategic vision for TBM.

  • Categorize IT costs, technologies, resources, applications, and services. Providing a standard method for analyzing IT spending.

  • Linking technology investments to business outcomes, maximizing the value from our technology spend.

  • Design a comprehensive governance framework that includes policies, procedures, standards, and best practices for TBM, tracking.

  • Create IT Framework Strategy (Investment Cost, Value, and Quality).

  • Collaborate with leadership to define and implement the IT strategy, focusing on capacity management and data insights.

  • Encourage collaboration and effective working methods across teams.

  • Utilize TBM to protect assets and achieve value through cost reduction.

  • Update the framework as needed to reflect industry changes and organizational needs, including Agile practices.

  • Focus on culture change and continuous improvement.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process enhancement and introducing new practices.

  • Enhance IT management methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate best practices into the governance framework.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and align with IT initiatives.

  • Communicate IT strategies and performance effectively throughout the organization.

  • Develop KPIs to measure IT success and the effectiveness of the governance framework.

  • Regularly report performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Drive benchmarking for the IT organization by utilizing TBM data and insights to compare externally and identify opportunities across IT.

  • Ensure IT governance processes comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

  • Continuously update the framework to reflect industry changes and organizational needs.

  • Making data-driven decisions that adapt to changing market dynamics. Ensure that members create business value from every technology investment, resource, and asset, enabling impactful decisions for all IT spending.

  • Set clear goals, provide feedback, and offer training opportunities to support professional growth within the CDIO and IT teams.

  • Foster a culture of learning and development across the organization.

What you will need
Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in IT governance, knowledge of TBM taxonomy frameworks, process and compliance. Driving data driven outcomes.

  • 3+ years in a leadership role within similar environment. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

  • Experience in design and tracking of IT KPI's and metrics.

  • Relevant certifications such as TBM, RMP (Risk Management Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), or similar.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating project risks.
