Job Summary

This position will work closely with department leadership to ensure that research investigators, IRB members and staff, and other appropriate personnel maintain continuing knowledge of, and comply with, relevant ethical principles, relevant federal regulations, OHRP guidance, other applicable guidance, state and local laws, and institutional policies for the protection of human subjects. The position provides comprehensive financial, analytical and oversight support for research project, endowment, and gift account activities. The position researches complex issues for resolution, analyzes data, prepares reports, makes recommendations, develops presentations, creates and manages department's research budgets. The incumbent will also assist with clinical trials and external research for billing analysis and recharges as appropriate. This position is responsible for facilitation and management of interdepartmental studies and to assist the department C&G Supervisor on all pre-award activities. Serve as a liaison between and among the research team and School of Medicine and provides research administrative support to the Department of Radiation Oncology when needed. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and or a combination of experience, education and/or training required.
  • Experience in financial analyses, forecasting, strategic planning to analyze and compile financial data and reports; budget preparation based on narrative methodological research plans and designs with the skills to control complex budgets.
  • Must have accounting and Excel experience to generate spreadsheets, calculations and pivot tables.
  • Experience in budget preparation and ability to use budget templates.
  • Experience reading study and imaging protocols and understanding the purposed outcome of a study and the associated imaging needs.
  • Experience to operate PC for word processing, proposal submission and reports, nancial reports, data retrieval and electronic mail.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively and diplomatically interact with individuals of varying ages and cultural backgrounds and perspectives to research, secure, and/or provide information to clarify situations, and resolve problems.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing situations in a positive manner.
  • Strong understanding of coverage analysis forms and standard of care vs. non-standard of care services.
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively correspond with the public, coworkers, physicians, patients, caregivers, clinic staff, and other health care professionals.
  • Knowledge software programs including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Financial Ledger Systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
  • Administrative skills and ability to independently exercise good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness in making decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Human Subject required training (CITI Basic Course for Biomedical Researchers and Staff).
  • Completed Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
  • Working knowledge of department's hospital operations and services available and departmental and University billing processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures and GCP preferred.
  • Knowledge of Aggie Enterprise, UC Data, Aggie Buy, Aggie Travel and Aggie Ship.

Department Overview

The Department of Radiology is a large academic and clinical department within the School of Medicine which is responsible for teaching and training of residents, medical students, and clinical fellows, as well as both basic and creative clinical scholarly investigations. Radiology maintains a substantial amount of research, both basic and clinical trials, and provides services for interdepartmental research studies.
