Alaka`ina Foundation A Family of Companies (FOC) is looking a Sr. Laborer supporting our government customer in Kekaha, Hawai'i.

DESCRIPTION OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general direction of a supervisor or Lead-person, performs general laborer functions.

  • Efficient with all grounds-keeping functions such as mowing & trimming grass, edging, pruning hedges and trees.
  • Able to repair sprinklers and minor water leaks.
  • Fall protection qualified and able to trim trees over 50 feet.
  • Operate equipment; riding mowers, weed-eaters, pole trimmers, chain saws and chipper.
  • Responsible for equipment, tools, property and materials, and assure that they are properly maintained and safeguarded.
  • Performs specific tasks in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions and observes safety, fire, health, and work rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Office conditions are varied and includes physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over 50 pounds, with 2 man assist. Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, or standing for extended periods of time, crawling, kneeling, stooping or cramped working places and work requiring repeated or frequent climbing. Environment will include customer contact with field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • CDL (desired)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years' experience in a direct or related field to the position.
  • Must be knowledgeable of sprinkler systems.
  • Must be capable of acquiring the skill and knowledge of proper and safe use of tools and equipment associated with the trade.
  • Must demonstrate physical and mental capability to perform work.
  • Must have ability to obtain appropriate State and Government licenses: Heavy Machine Operator, Lift Truck, Tractor, Bobcat, Ditch Witch, Backhoe and Loader.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret Security Clearance Required (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
