Job Purpose Reporting to the Senior Director Strategic Sourcing and/or Senior Director of Supply Chain, Supply Chain interns will have the opportunity to actively learn and participate in functions including material control, planning, buying, and sourcing functions during their tenure. Activities will include an overall introduction of Supply Chain functions in addition to performing basis actions in support of the needs of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Will Include



  • Release of purchase orders to suppliers via the ERP system on a timely basis in accordance with lead-times, and monitoring delivery schedules.
  • Work closely with master scheduling and planning leadership on the production build plans, which include ensuring that forecasts are current within the business system to execute planning functions. Review and monitor open purchase orders via ERP exception messages and execute actions in accordance.
  • Manage ERP exception messages on a consistent basis, reviewing and responding to order actions messages on existing purchase orders.
  • Communication and correspondence with the supply base on purchase order coordination and execution of releases submitted, including the management of identified discrepant materials.
  • Interaction with planning and material control on the required movement of materials as required to support manufacturing, which includes receiving processes and internal movements.
  • Works with Sourcing Managers to establish production planning parameters in the business system to effectively manage inventory levels.
  • Execute business system tasks and transactions as trained and outlined.
  • Ability to manage activities in a very hands-on manner.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications



  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis within Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • Knowledge of and/or progression towards APICS Certification is a plus.


  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Ability to navigate with flexibility in a changing business environment.
    • Solid Microsoft Office skills
    • Accountability to complete work on time and with a high degree of quality.
