Job Summary

Manages work processes, administrative procedures, and policies to increase efficient and effective operations for the Diane Ramy Faulconer CARE Center in the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences (NWCNHS). Makes independent decisions regarding operational and financial activities, driving strategic initiatives and creating a productive learning environment that enhances student engagement success. This position will improve the retention, engagement, and success of students by ensuring the CARE Center provides essential academic support services. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Administration, this position will lead and supervise a team of temporary and student employees, significantly contributing to the CARE Center's and the broader college's mission.

  • Oversees all operational aspects of the Diane Ramy Faulconer CARE Center, including access of the CARE center by faculty and students on a semesterly basis, scheduling of courses and general upkeep of the facility.
  • Manages and analyzes financial data, contributing to accurate budget development that prioritizes resources for academic support initiatives. Provides insightful projections and recommendations for the effective allocation of all funding sources (E&G, Auxiliary, and Foundation) to maximize their impact on student success.
  • Processes and approves daily fiscal transactions, ensuring financial integrity in support of academic endeavors associated with the operation of the CARE Center.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates strategic plans for the CARE Center that are in line with the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • Oversees the development and revision of policies and procedures for the CARE Center, ensuring alignment with the strategic initiatives of NWCNHS and FIU.
  • Serves as Commodity card user for departmental transactions. Assures compliance and adherence to university credit card policies and procedures.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains a comprehensive inventory system for all equipment and supplies, ensuring the availability of essential academic resources in the CARE Center.
  • Supervises and coordinates the work of temporary and student employees, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment that supports student learning and development.
  • Prepares reports and analyzes usage, financial and other data related to the CARE Center for the Associate Dean of Administration.
  • Represents the department in meetings, conferences, and administrative affairs, advocating for the needs of academic support services.
  • Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.
Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with overseeing operational lab procedures, providing student and faculty support in a health center.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in budget management.
