Packaging Machine Operator

$22.50 per hour: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

On a typical day, the Small Packaging Associate will contribute to the Envigo team by:

• Package finished diet products to customer ordered request
• Label, fill, weigh and tape bags shut following established work instructions
• Special packaging of completed diets
• Operate package scales, package evacuation equipment and sealing equipment compliant with quality and safety expectations
• Perform standard vacuum packaging by putting weighed up filled bags into clear plastic pouches which are then cycled thru the evacuation and sealing machine
• Perform cardboard case filling of sealed packages and label, filled and closed cardboard case, with product#, lot number and quantity per customer's order.
• Complete and maintain packaging record documentation to ensure quality system compliance
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Facility housekeeping duties as assigned including but not limited to the packaging and common areas
• Other duties as assigned by management
• Overtime as needed including nights and or weekends

To be successful in this role, this position requires that the Small Packaging Associate brings:

• Completed High School education
• English communication - written, reading and oral
• Neat and legible hand writing
• Developed and accurate basic math ability
• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
• Ability to accurately transpose written and printed information to quality record documents
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work in a standing position for periods of time of up to 4 hours.
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Physical mobility within facility
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb. objects
• Ability to climb and descend stairs and vertical ladders
• Willing and able to work overtime as needed( including nights and weekends)
• Ability to communicate (written and verbally) in English

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
