Job Purpose
The Facilities Manager oversees the overall management and general business of the maintenance, repair, and improvements to the facility and all equipment located within.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance, upkeep, and improvements of all facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, chillers, and communications, ensuring that plant operation is maintained to meet EnerSys standards of performance, reliability, and safety.
- Maintain the building structure and outside areas in good condition.
- Actively oversee the maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment including ovens, hydraulic systems, vacuum systems, and dehumidification systems using both internal and external resources working with a sense of urgency to return equipment to proper operating condition.
- Be available to respond to facility/equipment issues that may arise during non-standard work hours (nights and weekends).
- Serve as main point of contact and provide oversight for all external contractors/service providers.
- Responsible for identifying, contacting, and scheduling external contractors to perform work on site.
- Be actively involved in all aspects of work performed by the Facilities Maintenance group.
- Identify and stock an adequate supply of commonly used repair parts to expedite equipment repair.
- Work in a safe manner, always using all required Personal Protective Equipment and following all internal and external safety regulations.
- Be able to work in a respectful manner with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field and/or previous experience in a technical managerial position is preferred. Military service at the level of E-6 or greater will be considered in lieu of degree. Wide range of technical systems knowledge required.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn several other computer software packages required for this position.

- This position requires working in a manufacturing plant/warehouse environment. Must be able to work in a cool, dry environment. Must be able and willing to work varying schedules that may include nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.
