What You'll Do: Develop and Maintain. Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures manual for personnel to ensure that proper internal controls are in place and that timely and accurate information is generated for other accounting purposes. In cooperation with management, hire and train administrative personnel, including administrators and scale clerks/dispatchers. Develop ongoing training programs for office administrators and scale clerks. Supervise. As mentioned earlier, supervise the work of the dotted-line subordinates in performing the responsibilities. Have supervisory authority over office administrators. Prepare Monthly Financial Information. Perform audits of compliance periodically and take corrective action as necessary. Report significant deficiencies to the Construction Business Performance Manager and Director of Internal Audit. Perform LEAN review of the area's processes and implement improvement plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Skills You'll Need: Education. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience. A minimum of 2 years prior work experience in accounting or finance, some of which is in a supervisory capacity, knowledge, and understanding of Vulcan Materials plant operations is preferred. Knowledge of Accounting Principles. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices, including internal controls and operations and processes for all lines of business. Technology Skills. Must be able to use computerized equipment and technology-strong knowledge of computer processes and system applications. Interpersonal Skills. Excellent interpersonal and business planning skills are required. Excellent people management and supervisory experience are required to deal effectively with senior management, staff, and front-line operations personnel. Integrity. We see our development programs and helping our employees meet their goals as critical to our business. Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.
