Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Release of purchase orders to suppliers via the ERP system on a timely basis in accordance with lead-times, and monitoring delivery schedules. * Work closely with maintenance and operations on to review and align safety stock levels as needed. * Communication and correspondence with the supply base on purchase order coordination and execution of releases submitted, including the management of identified discrepant materials. * Interaction with material control on the required movement of materials as required to support manufacturing, which includes receiving, and internal movements. * Reviews inventory to determine actions on excess and obsolete components and define a plan of action to manage. * Experience in negotiating purchased costs and payment terms with suppliers, along with exposure to executing to supplier agreements and contracts. * Ability to manage activities in a very hands-on manner and provide leadership and direction. * Cross functional skills in understanding manufacturing capabilities and interna; customer expectations. * Drive and implement new product and cost savings initiatives in a cross functional team setting. * Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required * Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy. * Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product. * Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Qualifications * Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree required, with preferred emphasis within Operations or Supply Chain Management * Licenses/Certifications: o APICS Certification and/or progress towards is strongly preferred * Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: o Minimum 3-5 years' experience in material planning and/or purchasing, preferably within a manufacturing setting o Demonstrated knowledge and skills in inventory management practices such as forecasting, order policy codes, demand management, and lead-time in support of customer programs. o Ability to navigate with flexibility in a changing business environment. o Strong project management skills, demonstrated experience with continuous improvement process and quality initiatives o Solid ERP experience, Advanced Microsoft Office skills o Required travel estimated at 10%. o Accountability to complete work on time and with a high degree of quality.
