Job Description:

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing QA support to manufacturing operations, which includes coordination of MRB activity, monitoring of manufacturing, inspection and test processes, and implementation of quality initiatives. Essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support Operations daily by assisting in the identification, analysis, and resolution of a broad range of product and process problems utilizing DMAIC and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support military and aerospace customers by providing failure analysis, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for returned materials.
  • Manage customer audits and source inspections, including pre-cap and final source inspections.
  • Participate in customer MRB activities, quality audits, and factory tours as needed.
  • Interface with the supply chain team to drive failure analysis, root cause determination and corrective action implementation for supplier material issues.
  • Assist management with the design, development, and maintenance of the quality management system.
  • Lead audit teams to ensure compliance to AS9100, ISO9001, MIL-STD certifications, etc, and assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Help facilitate continual improvement across all functional areas through training and communication of quality initiatives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • US Person.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field, or 10 years equivalent experience in a change authority role.
  • Minimum 7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in application of Six Sigma and 8D methodologies and tools to determine root cause and corrective action implementation for internal/external issues.
  • Strong understanding of current quality philosophies, process, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with frequency control products and related military performance specifications and standards.
  • Proven experience working with military and aerospace customers, understanding their stringent quality requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of reliability and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, assessment tools, and reporting.
  • User experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Access.
