South Region - Urgent Care Medical Director (Southern Maryland)
MedStar Health Urgent Care is looking for a full-time Regional Medical Director (RMD) - South Region (Southern Maryland: Waldorf - Festival Way, Waldorf - Shoppers World, La Plata, Charlotte Hall, California). Physician must be board-certified in either Emergency, Family, or Internal/Pediatrics Medicine. MedStar Urgent Care sites span throughout Maryland, District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. As a Medical Director, the physician's role will include urgent care clinical time, as well as administrative/leadership time.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Physician shall be employed on a full-time basis and shall dedicate a percentage of time to the role as Regional Medical Director, including handling administrative, managerial and leadership oversight responsibilities for the Employer as follows:
-The RMD will act as a key clinical leader in the assigned region and will be the conduit and first point of communication and contact with the providers within the assigned region.
-Evaluate patient satisfaction surveys and comment alerts or any other source of patient feedback for issues regarding patient complaints for clinical care and will be responsible for working with the patient experience office in researching and resolving complaints involving provider (MD/APP) issues.
-Provide input to the scheduler for creating clinical schedules for pods within the assigned region. Point of contact for providers for clinical coverage issues (call outs and surge) when these issues cannot be resolved by the providers themselves or the scheduler or other managers.
-Conduct initial reviews for new employees (FPPE) and bi-annual provider reviews (OPPE); conduct site visits; and perform provider coaching sessions as needed.
-Assist in administration and implementation of MedStar Urgent Care Policies, Procedures and new initiatives.
-Assist in improvement and maintenance of MedStar Urgent Care performance indicators of Quality and Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Documentation and Coding, financial, and provider engagement.

Director - MHUC Provider Mentor Program
Duties & Responsibilities:

These will include handling administrative, managerial and leadership oversight responsibilities for the Employer as follows:

Serve as chief mentor program liaison for MHUC. Specific responsibilities include:

-Oversee mentor recruitment into the program along with introduction of the mentors tothe program by performing the following:

-Making the initial call/contact with the mentor

-Providing written details of the mentor program to the mentor in the form ofappropriate documents sent to the mentor via email.

-Arrange and conduct all necessary follow-up meetings with the mentor.

-Oversee Mentor-Mentee pairing by:

-Assigning mentees to the mentors both for new mentors as well as existingmentors.

-Unpairing mentors and mentees based on resignations/ terminations.

-Maintain an active and ongoing log of mentor-mentee pairings and update this log on a regular basis to keep it up to date.

-Provide coaching to mentors and mentees on how to start and maintain a goodprofessional relationship during the tenure of their pairing, as needed.

-Work with the assigned Project Manager and team to keep the MD CollaborationAgreements up to date based on the mentor-mentee pairings.

-Attending all relevant meetings such as MHUC Recruitment meeting, MHUC ProviderRoster Review meetings, and others that will help the Director of the MentorProgram with the relevant information to maintain and run a successful program.

-Conduct and lead quarterly mentor meetings.

-Perform regular and ongoing review of the mentor tasks for each mentor to make surethat the mentors are performing the assigned tasks. Example includes preformingregular checks to make sure that the mentors are signing off on the charts beingsent to them by their mentees.

-Oversee the performance and completion of Journal Clubs by all mentors as well asmentees.

-Maintain documentation of all above tasks in appropriate assigned tools.

-Fulfil other responsibilities such as admin on call, attending leadership meetings, etc., asassigned by the Chief Medical Director.
