VDC PROJECT MANAGER, CONCRETE SELF-PERFORM

McGough Construction, an ENR Top 100 General Contractor specializing in Commercial Building, Manufacturing and Construction Management is currently seeking qualified candidates for the VDC Project Manager, Concrete Self-Perform position. The VDC PM, Concrete Self Perform is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) on assigned projects, leading, or assisting with the management of the VDC content & standard work documentation and providing marketing and estimating support as required.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

* BS or MS degree from accredited college/university focusing on Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or equivalent AEC industry experience.
* Minimum 5 years of experience, planning and executing BIM and VDC at the project level.
* Demonstrates strong VDC acumen.
* Strong knowledge of current construction delivery models, practices, and documentation.
* Strong understanding of building system types and construction sequencing.
* Experience managing and/or training less experienced VDC staff on VDC tools and workflows.
* Capacity and eagerness to educate staff outside the VDC department on VDC-related tools and workflows.
* Advanced level competency using BIM authoring software such as Revit.
* Advanced level competency using 3D coordination software such as Revizto and Navisworks.
* Experience in the planning & execution of laser scanning, the associated processing, and deliverable creation from the data.
* Ability to actively listen, mentally visualize and then produce detailed 2D, 3D, 4D or 5D deliverables for use by internal and external clients.
* Powerful desire to learn, apply and train new processes, technologies and methodologies that promote the use of BIM, VDC and a LEAN culture.
* Self-motivated and efficient at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Detail-oriented and able to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously without direct supervision.
* Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and written/verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

* Strong understanding of the various types of concrete forming systems used in commercial construction.
* Prior experience modeling, quantifying, and creating layout drawings for formwork systems and components necessary to perform a scope of work.
* Strong understanding of the various concrete reinforcement methodologies and their limitations.
* Prior field experience performing layout/survey tasks for large commercial construction projects.
* Prior field experience setting formwork systems for large commercial construction projects.
* Experience working with Revizto for model coordination and communication.
* 360 photo platform experience. Understanding & educating on best practices for capturing and accurate progress tracking.
* 4D/5D Phasing modeling and animation creation using Fuzor, Synchro Pro or similar software.
* Programming experience using Dynamo, Python, or similar tools.

Office and Travel:

* Primary office location is negotiable
* Must be willing and able to travel to project jobsites as required
* Some projects may require full or part-time onsite presence and will be discussed prior to assignment

Job Responsibilities:

* Support the Self-Perform team in the planning of Self-Perform VDC scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
* Support the Self-Perform team by utilizing VDC tools and processes for creating visuals, constructability reviews and carrying out coordination efforts.
* Collaborate with internal project teams, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to develop and to execute BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
* Perform design document reviews at all stages of design and construction to validate that all necessary information has been included to accurately execute the contracted scope of work.
* Submittal reviews as needed for items relating to Self-Perform scopes of work
* Coordination of embeds, anchor bolts, sleeves, etc., and openings in concrete & masonry structures.
* Use laser scanning to verify existing conditions or validate as-built conditions.
* Use Revit to accurately model self-perform related scopes of work for constructability reviews, estimating and layout purposes.
* Create visuals for RFIs and write RFIs as needed to clarify any scope gaps in contract documents.
* Develop 3D models for 3D coordination and temporary conditions.
* Actively promote the value of VDC with both internal and external customers.
* Manage and facilitate 3D Coordination internally, as well as, with design disciplines, subcontractors, and fabricators on small to mega scale projects.
* Create 2D/3D/4D deliverables using VDC software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and Fuzor.
* Train project team members as needed on the access and use of VDC deliverables & BIM-related tools.
* Document VDC lessons learned back to VDC team from projects assigned.
* Practice and support continuous improvement within the VDC team and throughout company processes.
* Support projects and pursuit efforts outside of the Self-Perform team when assigned.
* Lead or assist in the creation, management & improvement of VDC content libraries and Standard Work.
* Develop content to support marketing/pursuit teams as needed.
* Verify that the Civil, Structural and Architectural contract documents are coordinated such that they allow for current industry construction tolerances, while meeting accessibility requirements.
* Verify that concrete grades align with current tolerances.
* Verify that the data used by field engineers/layout crews in the field matches the current contract documents.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Employee will be required to visit multiple construction jobsites on a weekly or bi-weekly basis which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
