As the PSM Specialist, you will manage a comprehensive Process Safety Management program for the PPG Cleveland facility. Close interaction with all levels of the manufacturing, technical and engineering organizations is required to ensure a consistent and unified EHS message. In this role, you will be onsite at PPG's Automotive OEM facility and report to the site EHS Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive ownership of facility process safety metrics to meet established goals and ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG requirements and policies.

  • Provide leadership, counsel, and technical assistance on process safety issues/incidents and ensure effective process safety program execution.

  • Provide oversight and coordination for the site's OSHA PSM program, including the facility-wide MOC program.

  • Track process safety leading indicators and conduct strategic analysis to develop action plans to reduce risk; Drive continuous improvement in PSM processes.

  • Develop employee training to improve the process safety capabilities of the organization.

  • Complete internal and external assessment of program execution, develop feedback measures, and review results for drift prevention/future alignment.

  • Network with corporate and other process safety managers to foster adoption of best practices across the organization.

  • Facilitate investigation of high potential process safety events and significant process failures; Evaluate PSM impacts of capital projects.

  • Work with facility personnel on developing the process hazard analysis schedule, leading PHAs and providing facility resources.

  • Advise plant management and employees on a variety of issues including process safety risk and mitigation.

  • Participate on emergency response team.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, PSM or related discipline.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in safety or PSM field; Preferred chemical or manufacturing setting.

  • Must have a broad understanding of environmental, health and safety rules and regulations.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team as well as all levels of the organization.
