Facilities Engineer 2

As a Facilities Engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you'll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts. You inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherence with established specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state of the art facilities.

Supports facilities issues in R & D Lab for deposition equipment, working towards maximizing the use of facilities and equipment uptime, and compliance with laws and regulations. Assists with new/existing tool installs, preparing layout and detail drawings, bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

• Facilities POC for lab support equipment and utilities
• Equipment selection, upgrade, replacement, and support
• Review new equipment (chemical delivery units, heat exchangers, pumps, abatements) selected by Product Groups
• Manage equipment CIP activities (e.g., pump GN2 dilution reductions, pump and abatement green modes, MUXs)
• Handle equipment obsolescence management, spares, and upgrade/replacement prioritization
• Plan facilities changes for plant, lab, and production equipment layouts, ensuring economy of operation, maximum use of facilities, and compliance with laws and regulations
• Assist with EOR design drawings and attend design reviews (pipe, electricity, exhaust, specialty gas, chemical supply equipment, etc.)
• Prepare and solicit bid packages and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition
• Review and estimate design costs (equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, etc.)
• Inspect construction and installation progress for conformance to drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Manage contractors for scheduled preventative maintenance and timely fixes of field issues
• Maintain load/capacity systems reports
• Respond to life safety emergencies and assist with ERT investigations
• Participate in tool installation design reviews, ensuring outsourced design firms adhere to Lam protocols and expectations
• Assist in startup of gas systems and process equipment to achieve process qualification on new process modules
• Drive cost reduction through competitive bidding, negotiations, and contracts management
• Align and report weekly with Lab ops customers
• Present in SIPP, Operations, ITP review, and ETS meetings related to tool installations
• Coordinate with City of Fremont for Hazmat and Fire

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Eight (8)years' experience managing complex projects or programs in high technology industry.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with customers.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results within matrixed organization.
• Creative thinking, strong problem-solving skills, ability to lead a team for solving problem.
• MS Office - Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Projects and Bluebeam.
• CAPM or PMP Certification.
• This is a full-time onsite position.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
