THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Technician, you will perform a variety of technical duties and provide a wide range of IT user support services for various locations across the norther tier of our offices and hatcheries. This profession emphasizes the delivery of standard helpdesk support to information technology users on desktop PC, peripheral hardware, software, and operational network matters. Diligent collaboration and communication with central network administrators is essential to support their work with central network operating systems. Your work will involve receiving calls for assistance, documentation, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software problems, or referring the caller to the next level of service. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bellefonte.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as an IT Help Desk Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance; or
  • One year of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance and completion of a one-year apprenticeship in the IT technical support field; or
  • An associate degree in an IT field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
