Iteris, Inc. seeks an Engineer/Planner Modeler with transportation planning and modeling experience performing and supporting a wide range of large and small scale transportation planning projects. Responsibilities include applying travel demand models for use in traffic and environmental analysis, analyzing and presenting results, as well as developing and maintaining regional and local travel demand models. The qualified individual will also prepare traffic studies, lead traffic modeling tasks, and other analysis for various projects such as PSR, PA/ED, CEQA/NEPA studies.

** This role can be remote unless within a commutable distance from one of our offices. In that instance, the position would be either in the office or hybrid, depending on location.

What you will be doing:




  • Proven success developing and running travel demand models, micro-simulation models and other transportation analysis modeling tools such as TransCAD, Cube/Voyager, VISUM, as well as GIS/and/or other platforms
  • Ability to analyze modeling output results, working with project managers and project teams, for applications such as complex traffic impact studies, freeway/interchange Project Study Reports/Project Reports, corridor studies, city general plans and other similar projects
  • Ability to format and use the model results for air quality model applications, Highway capacity Manual (HCM) studies, intersection post processing and other similar analyses
  • Ability to develop area wide and corridor level measures of effectiveness such as vehicle miles travelled (VMT), vehicle hours travelled (VHT) and vehicle delay and to portray that information in graphics, tables and charts within technical reports and presentations



What you need to be successful in this role:




  • Bachelor's degree in transportation, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of consulting and/or public sector experience in the transportation planning field, with a focus on travel demand modeling
  • Excellent communication skills including writing and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of recent developments in travel demand forecasting, such as activity-based modeling
  • Awareness of current transportation trends and issues such as multi-modal level of service analysis and bicycle and pedestrian plans desired



Iteris anticipates paying between $100,000 and $115,000 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
