with 2+Years experience in California Workers Compensation working as a Field Case Manager
What You'll Be Doing:
- New case assignments and completion of referral process
- Reviews medical records, formulates and implements plan of care and obtains all appropriate and required documentation needed to move claim
- Travels to and attends physician visits to obtain status, treatment plan, and address return to work while obtaining supporting documentation from the visit
- Implements and utilizes all necessary resources to achieve goals and measurable outcomes. Proactively implements all plans of care to facilitate rehabilitation and recovery for the individual
- Maintains Choices policies and procedures in meeting contacts and reporting timelines
- Utilizes appropriate treatment guidelines and case management software to produce quality work product
- Implements resources and tools to ensure successful projections for return to function
- Maintains and fosters relationships with the medical community and contracted providers. Effectively communicates verbally and in writing, with all parties in the W/C process with pro-active and goal driven communication.
- Independently assumes responsibility to be knowledgeable of workers' compensation laws and disability benefits, utilization management, and rehabilitation for specific clients.
- Maintains strict confidentiality (HIPAA) of injured worker's private health information, medical, disability, and demographic information.
- Prepares and submits professionally typed initial/progress/closure case management reports, billing forms through utilization of protected company software program.
- Organizes, manages and maintains calendar, demonstrates time management and diaries to meet reporting requirements.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (Pacific)
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Two (2) years of experience in California Workers Comp required
- Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college.
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Strong clinical background in Nursing desired with two years related experience and/or training in Occupational or Employee Health or Integrated Disability Management.
- CCM certification preferred.
- Current California Registered Nursing License
- Current Driver's License and insured automobile require
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
